Investment in Georgia Surges Amid Major Infrastructure Projects

Direct foreign investment in Georgia demonstrated significant growth in 2025. According to Georgia's national statistics service "Sakstat", the volume of investments reached 1.9 billion dollars, which exceeds the 2024 figures by 19.3%. This was announced by Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintszadze, emphasizing that such growth resulted from the intensification of major infrastructure projects in the country.

Infrastructure Projects as Drivers of Investment

According to Tsintszadze, the implementation of major infrastructure projects has entered an active phase, which attracts new foreign investors to the Georgian economy. The official emphasized that maintaining high rates of economic growth is a key task, as it will contribute to job creation in the country and strengthening Georgia's competitiveness at the regional level.

The strategic goal of the authorities is to maintain an attractive investment and business environment that will foster the activity of both local and foreign investors. Such an approach will allow for maximum utilization of the potential of infrastructure projects for economic development.

Georgia Among Leaders in Investment Attraction

In terms of direct foreign investment relative to GDP, Georgia ranks among the leading countries. The 2025 indicator reached 5%, which testifies to the country's economic attractiveness against comparable regional states.

Structure of Investment Growth

The main factors in the increase of investments in 2025 were the growth of equity capital and reinvestment. Equity capital reached 685.7 million dollars, increasing by 25.9% compared to 2024. Reinvestment grew by 16.4% and reached 1.6 billion dollars, which indicates investor confidence in the prospects of the Georgian economy.

Priority Sectors for Foreign Capital

In 2025, three key sectors remained the most attractive for investors:

  • Financial and Insurance Activities
  • Real Estate
  • Trade

Diversification of investments across sectors confirms that foreign capital flows not only into individual economic segments but also supports comprehensive development of various sectors of the Georgian economy. This creates conditions for sustainable economic growth and job creation in various industries.
