
According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia "Geostat", in the second quarter of 2026, the country attracted $468.8 million in foreign direct investments. This demonstrates sustained investment interest from foreign companies and investors in the Georgian economy despite global uncertainty.
Investment Leaders in Georgia
Investments came from three main investor countries. China ranked first with $219.5 million, accounting for nearly half of all foreign direct investments in the period. The United Kingdom placed $123.5 million, taking second place, while the United Arab Emirates invested $47.7 million, rounding out the top three.
Main Investment Sectors
The distribution of investments across sectors shows where the main economic interests of foreign investors are concentrated. The largest share was attracted by financial and insurance activities with $207.6 million, reflecting the development of financial services in the country. The real estate sector received $119.9 million, demonstrating active interest in the property market. Manufacturing attracted $59 million, ranking third by investment volume.
Thus, foreign investors demonstrate interest in the development of several key sectors of the Georgian economy, with the financial sector remaining the most attractive destination for capital placement.
