Foreign Direct Investment in Georgia Increased by 19.3% in 2025

According to refined data from the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat), the volume of foreign direct investment in Georgia in 2025 reached $1.9 billion USD, showing significant growth of 19.3% compared to the previous year. This demonstrates an increase in interest from international investors in the Georgian economy and confirms positive trends in the market.

Share of Reinvestment and Key Indicators

Notably, 82.5% of the total volume of foreign direct investment consisted of reinvested funds, indicating long-term commitment by investors to the development of enterprises and projects already created in the country.

Leading Investor Countries

Georgia's investment landscape is shaped by several key countries. The three largest investors accounted for 44.4% of the total investment volume:

  • the United Kingdom leads with investments of $426.6 million, accounting for 22.4% of the total volume;
  • Azerbaijan invested $214.4 million (11.3%);
  • Turkey directed $202.4 million into the country's economy (10.6%).

Distribution of Investments by Economic Sectors

Investments are distributed unevenly across various sectors. The largest capital inflow is directed to the financial sector: financial and insurance activities received $633.2 million, or 33.3% of the total investment volume. This reflects Georgia's importance as a financial hub in the region.

Second place is occupied by the real estate market, which attracted $254.7 million (13.4% of the total volume). Such investment volume in real estate confirms the growing interest of international investors in the development of the construction sector and commercial real estate in Georgia. Third place in attractiveness for investors is held by retail trade with a volume of $191.1 million (10.1%).

The data obtained demonstrates positive dynamics of the investment climate in Georgia and confirms the country's course toward attracting international capital to key sectors of the economy.
